About Me

Hello! Thanks for stopping by.

Allow me to introduce myself. I’m a professional writer with three years’ experience in website management and content writing in both corporate and academic roles. I gained this experience in Shanghai, China, where I moved after earning my undergraduate degree from Columbia University in English Literature and Creative Writing. I studied three years’ of Mandarin as an undergrad and another two semesters abroad in Taibei and Shanghai, and this was invaluable to my work in and understanding of China. I relocated to Oakland in early 2009, and I’m enjoying getting to know the Bay area.

For more on my work experience, take a look at my resume.

I consider myself to be a highly flexible marketing agent who is accustomed to addressing a global gamut of audiences. I have an endless enthusiasm for compelling word choice, thorough research and promoting literacy in whatever community I find myself in. I believe in the awesome power of language study as a means for cross-cultural understanding and greater connection.

My continuing objective is to advance my understanding of the principles of communication where human imagination, technology and information-based commerce meet and, wherever possible, for that work to have a positive effect on society.

Please feel free to have a look around, and don’t hesitate to contact me with any queries you may have.

Amy
